Bottoms up, itβs National Green Juice Day! Have you had your cup of vitality today? Not only is green my favorite color and do I fall on earth green (empathetic) at the top of my personality Insights Self Discovery Test, but this color, thanks to organic spinach and kale, represents a juice packed with Vitamins A and K. Cucumbers add the additional benefit of hydration as they are 95% water and help to boost the bodyβs ability to flush out toxins. They also contain ascorbic and caffeic acid, the latter known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

For a little spice, we added fresh ginger root as an additional anti-inflammatory and digestion aid along with turmeric root that has a long history of health benefits tied to the powerful ingredient curcumin. Finally, our orange packs this with servings of Vitamin C needed during this season where we are more susceptible to communicable respiratory infections.

My Favorite Things About Juicing
- Health benefits
- Raw fruits and vegetables have higher nutrient retention than processed and cooked foods
- Pulp contains high fiber that can be repurposed in other recipes π§
- Easy way to include fruits and vegetables in children diets without the added sugar and get them involved in kitchen activities (my littlest one loves to add the fruits and veggies to the juicer, hit the presser and π the rainbow π of colors dispense) π
So donβt let those fruits and veggies in your refrigerator go to waste before the year ends. They are waiting to be masticated!
